    Vanderlande’s Site Management Department is responsible for the Installation and project execution of Material Handling Systems, Airports, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortation systems for our customers throughout North America. The increasing number of new projects and their geographical spread means the team is growing and expanding. You will report hierarchically to the Manager of Site Management, and daily to the Site Manager or the Project Manager. In this position, you will be working within a Site Management project team to manage the installation of baggage handling, automation or parcel sortation system.  You will be responsible for the high quality electrical installation and to ensure the system is installed with efficiency, against the project specifications and technical requirements.


    The Site Supervisor I is responsible for following the direction of the project Senior Site Supervisor or the Site Manager.  Must have a background in Electrical and/or Mechanical field installations. You’ll be part of the project team, led by the project manager. The project team consists of site managers, supervisors and subcontractors. You will report hierarchically to the Manager of Site Management and on a daily basis the Senior Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Project Manager.





    •  Organize on-site installation activities on regular projects or parts of bigger projects
    •  Create a safe working environment during the project installation phases
    •  Contribute in creating the project “installation” schedule
    •  Proper preparation of the start up of the installation of the equipment
    •  Organize proper unloading and site logistics
    •  Instruct the installation team about technical and installation requirements
    •  Work according the C05 processes
    •  Perform quality checks on installation and these processes
    •  Provide proper feedback about progress and status
    •  Create and support a high quality hand over to commissioning
    •  Support commissioning during the testing phase
    •  Organize all site related activities until handover to customer 




    Basic Qualifications:

    • High school diploma
    • Must have a background in Electrical and/or Mechanical field installations
    • Experience within conveyor and conveyor systems, preferably in airports, warehouse, or distribution center environments
    • Experience providing oversight to a team of varying experience levels and job functions
    • Must be willing to travel up to 80%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree of Engineering, Construction Management or similar 


    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Decision making ability
    • Ability to utilize a high degree of common sense
    • Working knowledge of electro mechanical controls wiring and systems.
    • Ability to manage mechanical and electrical installers in a way to ensure time for commissioning and testing requirements
    • Safety awareness for assigned scope
    • Knowledge of Microsoft office software
    • Knowledge of project planning and organization
    • International and multicultural awareness
